SVW09: Real Value for Public and Private Organisations

Large and small organisations are using virtual worlds to meet, work and simulate working situations. This conference
focused on business applications of Virtual Worlds and highlighted a variety of case studies that demonstrated the
economic and ecological benefits of using these virtual spaces. Hosted by the globally renowned Serious Games Institute
in Coventry, and jointly run by Ambient Performance, this conference demonstrated a whole new world of business. The event was supported by the Digital and Creative Technologies Network.

    The conference was simulcast into the Forterra OLIVE platform.It included the presentations including videos and demos and included the ability to interact with the speakers, facilitators and each other.

    16th September – Introduction to Enterprise Virtual Worlds

    Wondering how a virtual world works and how to operate in one?

    This practical workshop introduces you to a variety of Virtual Worlds and applications and will be run by Ron Edwards and Dick Davies from Ambient Performance

    During the half day session you will be:

    • Introduced to Virtual Worlds and how they work
    • Shown how to navigate virtual worlds
    • Introduced to a variety of application examples including events, meetings, training and visualization.
    • Provided with an overview of the key differences in leading serious virtual worlds

    Virtual World experts Ambient Performance will be on hand to demonstrate and assist, giving information about how
    Virtual Worlds can cut costs, offer new ways of working and support innovation.
